Sneaky Pirate Wally tried very hard to hide around Upton, but so many of you followed his clues to track him down. Chief Pirate Helm has been very pleased with the super efforts of many of the children in showing him how they tracked down cunning Pirate Wally. He will be judging them during assembly on Wednesday.Take a look at the pictures below to see some of them for yourself.
What a lovely day for The Upton and Lytchett Minster Carnival. The day started early at Upton Infant School, converting Curvin Transport's Lorry into a Pirate Ship.
The float looked super, as did the scores of children, parents and staff in pirate themed costumes. As the carnival procession began, it was great to see the amazing effort put in by so many people to creating a fantastic variety of carnival floats.
So, we were particularly pleased to win the prize for best float. Well done everyone.
Now, where has Mr Loe got to with Pirate Wally...?
In the run up to Upton Carnival, Pirate Wally will be out and about around Upton. Each day a new clue to Pirate Wally's new location will appear on our website. Alternatively you can follow Pirate Wally @UptonInfant on twitter: twitter.com/UptonInfant
There will be prizes given at the end of the treasure hunt to those who manage to track down Wally each day, and a special prize to the person who can prove in the most imaginative way that they've found Wally each day.
Have you spotted Wally today? If not, here's Thursday's clue:
Pirate Wally has a date...
But watch the time - he can't be late.
Sometime on Friday morning he will be off again - here's the next clue:
Where's Wally now? Go take a stroll...
And grab yourself a bacon roll.
Good luck!
Well done to Mrs Starr, one of our super lunchtime supervisors who had her long flowing locks cut off in the school playground at the end of the school day today. Mr Helm seemed to enjoy shearing off some of her hair! Mrs Starr is raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
You can support Mrs Starr on her Just Giving page.
We held our annual music concert on Friday afternoon. Each year group performed songs from their chosen music together with performances from the choir and the 'Mascot Band' comprising the class mascots accompanied by all children who had collected 5 or more reading bands throughout the year. There were also super performances from the winners of the 'Upton's Got Talent' competition.
There was a wide variety of acts on display at this year's Upton's Got Talent competition. Singers, rappers, gymnasts, dancers, poets, magicians and golfers delighted the audience.
The panel of judges were very impressed with all of the finalists, making choosing a winner difficult. The winners from each year team will perform at the music concert on Friday afternoon in front of children and parents.
Expressive Arts Week was kicked off with a special performance for the children by the staff. Each year team performed a song from the musicals, with a particularly impressive performance by Mr Antell in Mamma Mia.
On Tuesday the children were treated to a performance from Lytchett Minster school band performing jazz, rock and brass numbers.
Throughout the week the children will be taking part in a variety of art activities, culminating in the music performance on Friday afternoon.
