The aim of this website is to give you useful information about our school and also to reflect its ethos. Our school is welcoming and friendly with good relationships between pupils, staff, parents and carers being of paramount importance to us. We believe that children learn best when they feel safe, valued and are happy to come to school. We have high expectations of all pupils in terms of both academic achievements and behaviour.

The July 2017 Ofsted Report includes the following comments (click here to view the report in full):-

  • "A creative approach to learning ensures pupils have great fun while they learn."
  • "All practice gives high regard to the overall well-being of each pupil, this leads to an exceptionally caring provision which is a very strong aspect of the school."


In our Annual Parent Questionnaire, 100% of the parents would recommend the school to another parent, 100% agree that their child makes good progress and is well looked after at the school, 100% believe their child is well taught and 100% agree that it is well led and managed. On the 1st November 2018 our school converted to an academy and joined Hamwic Education Trust (Hamwic Education Trust. Registered address: Unit E, Mill Yard, Nursling Street, Southampton, SO16 0AJ. A charitable company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales. Company Number 10749662).


We felt that this would provide our school with the support and challenge needed to help us to continue to develop and improve. Dorset County Council are maintaining responsibility for our admissions arrangements, please click on the 'admissions' tab in our 'Parents' section for more details.


We are rightly proud of our school and we hope that by looking through the website you will get a feel for the work and fun that happens on a day to day basis.
