  • Anti-bullying day

    Thu 16 Nov 2017

The children and staff came dressed in odd socks today for anti-bullying day to highlight and celebrate our differences.

The children learned about what bullying is and what to do if they think they have been bullied.

There were lots of super entries in the Anti-bullying Superhero competition, with children (and one parent!) receiving certificates for their super efforts.

  • Year One's Sparkly Starter

    Mon 30 Oct 2017

It was a magical afternoon in Year One today with the launch of our new topic 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. Follow the link below to the Year One page where you will be able to watch the children's news bulletin which will explain what happened in their own words.

  • Doodle Maths

    Sat 21 Oct 2017

Over the half-tem break, we want to encourage children to use Doodle Maths - little and often will help children to develop their mathematical fluency.

Children who use Doodle Maths for 5 consecutive days, and earn 100 points over the break will each earn 3 Dojo points.

You can download a record sheet here!

    Happy Doodling!

  • D.I.S.C.O

    Tue 17 Oct 2017

A new rival for Fat Boy Slim was in town today, in the shape of DJ Churchill. He manned the 'wheels of steel' to the delight of the children who boogied on down to all the classic disco favourites.

Thank you to the PSA for organising and helping to raise valuable funds for the school.

  • Year One's trip to Upton Country Park

    Fri 13 Oct 2017

Yesterday the Year One children enjoyed a fun-packed day at Upton Country Park. Activities included Den Building, Andy Goldsworthy inspired art and a life-sized game of Where's Wally. The children all coped extremely well with the long walk to and from the park and they behaved fantastically throughout the day. The Year One staff and children would like to say a massive thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who gave up their time to support our trip. You are all superstars!!

  • Year Two Football Fever

Mon 02 Oct 2017 Graham Antell
On Monday afternoon some of our Year Two children excitedly took the short trip down to the Yarrells to play a series of small sided football matches. Upton won a number of games and all boys played the game with a great attitude, being competitive but remembering to respect the other team. Well done boys, look forward to our next game!
  • MacMillan Coffee Morning

    Fri 29 Sep 2017
We hope everyone enjoyed coming along to see their child's work this morning and coming along to the MacMillan Coffee morning, which raised £183. Thank you!
  • Awesome Autumn Day!

    Fri 22 Sep 2017

Today, the Year One children came in to school in Autumnal colours and spent the day planting, chopping vegetables, creating Autumn collages and making observations about the first day of Autumn. The children particularly enjoyed walking around the school collecting leaves for their Autumn collages and many of them are looking forward to doing the same at home! The children and staff would all like to thank Mrs Mutter and Miss Palmer for volunteering their time to help make today possible (and it was even Mrs Mutter's Birthday!). We look forward to our next seasonal day 'Wonderful Winter' early in 2018!

  • Splash!

    Thu 20 Jul 2017

It has been a very soggy morning at Upton Infant School! Mr Churchill, in his wisdom, thought it would be a good idea for children to bring in water pistols and super soakers for an end of year water fight!

What a  fabulous end to a fabulous year!

  • Uptonland!

    Wed 19 Jul 2017

If ever there was a case of life imitating art, our visit from OFSTED yesterday certainly seemed a bit surreal in light of our Year Two children's end of year performance, 'Uptonland!'. The story involved children being a little rebellious and dispensing of OFSTED inspectors on an inspection of their school.

Everyone who has seen the performance so far has been wowed by the children's accomplished performances and wonderful singing. It has been a truly magnificent end to their journey at Upton Infant School, which has seen the children take small steps, big strides and have exciting journeys.
