The children spent the day carrying out a number of challenges such as: which ways can you move a balloon around the room without touching it?, can you roll the 'gloop' into a ball?, investigating liquids and trying to make cars travel the furthest. The children developed their skills of observation and prediction and came up with their own ideas for investigations which they carried out.
The school recorder club performed in assembly today. The club has only been going for 5 weeks, but they impressed all with their knowledge on musical notation and an absolutely fantastic note-perfect recital.
Well done to Mrs Bennett and all the recorder players.
A fantastic afternoon was had in Year One this afternoon to celebrate the end of their Great Britain topic.
An incredible array of cakes had been created by the children and their families on a very British theme, together with some absolutely amazing models of iconic British landmarks.
Mr Helm can personally vouch for just how yummy the cakes were!
A number of our Year One and Two children took park in an athletics tournament on Friday organised by the CASA couches. The children took part in running races, javelin, target throwing and long jumping.
We might be a little late to qualify for Rio, but keep an eye on these athletics superstars in the future!
The school hall was transformed into a 'Boogie Wonderland' this afternoon for the May Disco.
The children were dressed to impress, with some beautiful party frocks and smartly dressed young men. There were also some incredible shapes being thrown on the dance floor, and Mr Antell even demonstrated some of his now legendary moves.
One highlight will certainly be one of our talented Year Two children demonstrating 'The Worm' - see if you can spot him in the pictures below!
The children are now pumped full of adrenaline, sweets and squash ready for bed!
One of our Year One teachers, Miss Dominey, is running the London Marathon on Sunday to raise money for CLIC Sargent, the charity for children with cancer and Leukemia. Many of you will be aware that she has been busy raising funds over the past months. Thank you to all of the children and parents who have supported her by buying sweets from her weekly stall on the playground, sponsorship of the 'Manor Mile' trial, or for coming along to the quiz. The total raised so far is a fantastic £2,500.
If you'd like to follow her progress on Sunday then you can get the Virgin Money London Marathon app or track her online - bib number 37308.
We all wish Miss Dominey the best of luck. We will have a big supply of 'Deep Heat' ready for Monday morning!
You can donate to Miss Dominey's Just Giving page, at https://www.justgiving.com/Rachel-Dominey/
It was lovely to welcome our local preschool children in to school today for an Easter Egg Hunt.
They had great fun doing craft activities and decorating Easter biscuits. Rumour has it that the Easter Bunny was even spotted hopping around school...
