  • The Apprentice

    Fri 14 Jul 2023

On Thursday after school, the Year Two children competed to win the 'Mini Apprentice'. Throughout the week they had been creating products to sell, designing brands, posters, adverts and jingles to market their products. There was a lot of interest in the children's stalls and each class nearly sold out of all the products.

Next week in Literacy we are adapting the story of Little Red and creating our own characters before retelling the story.

Next week in Maths the children will be completing their place value assessment. They will also be introduced to position and direction, completing some practical activities to support their learning.

We are encouraging the children to use Doodle Maths at home to improve their maths fluency. If you do not know your child's login, please ask your class teacher.

In Art this week we will create our own version of Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' painting using the techniques we have learnt.

In Science this week we will be comparing deciduous and evergreen trees and closely examining their leaves. This will include identifying their characteristics.

On Monday the children will participate in the Upton's Got Talent heats. Please remember to bring along any props or costumes the children will need for this.

The children will also be continuing to prepare for their Summer Concert by learning their songs.
