  • Year Two Football Tournament

Tue 27 Jun 2017 Graham Antell

On Tuesday 27th June, 14 of our Year Two children were involved in a football tournament kindly hosted by Lytchett Minster School that also included teams from Lytchett Primary and Longfleet Primary.

It poured with rain all afternoon but this did not dampen the children's spirits. Upton came out on top winning 3-1 in the final. Well played boys - you all did the school proud!

  • Harbour Challenge

    Mon 26 Jun 2017

Who says Monday is the worst day of the week?! Definitely not Year Two.

The sun was shining, the water was glistening and the children arrived with a bundle of energy ready for an adventurous day.

Led by qualified instructors, the children took part in a range of water and outdoor activities at Harbour Challenge down at Hamworthy Park.

They enjoyed racing on water rafts and kayaking on the water. The children even stood up in their kayaks, for a singalong to ‘head, shoulders, knees and toes!’

Taking a break from the water, the children climbed up a challenging rock wall and learnt the skills of Robin Hood by practising to use a bow and arrow in archery.

We couldn’t have ran this trip without the ongoing support of our parents, especially the parent helpers who didn’t mind getting their toes wet by lending a helping hand on the trip. Thank you!

  • Sports Day

    Fri 23 Jun 2017

It was a glorious day on Friday for our annual sports day. Sports Day is always a highlight of the school year, and this year was a fabulous day in which the children embraced the idea that it is the taking part the counts. The morning was spent on Upton Rec where all the children took part in a number of races.

The afternoon was spent at school with the annual water race challenge and presentation ceremony.

Congratulations to all the children for their efforts on the day.

  • Year Two Rounders

Wed 21 Jun 2017 Graham Antell
Well done to the Year Two girls who went to The Yarrells yesterday to learn about the game of rounders in hot and humid conditions. By the end of the session they had developed their understanding of the game greatly and did the school proud. Super effort girls, keep up the good work!
  • Manor Mile

Fri 09 Jun 2017 Graham Antell

Well done to the 24 children from Reception, Year One and Two who took part in the Manor Mile recently. On a hot day you did the school proud with your determination and sporting behaviour and attitudes.

Reception won their age group and Year One and Two finished second overall. A special well done to Heidi Gridley who won the race for Reception girls! Thanks to Sandford Primary for hosting and Lytchett Primary for organising.
