Year Two's Blog - 11th March

Welcome to Year Two's blog

What we have been doing this week

This week in maths, we have been looking at the features of 3D shapes, including the number of faces, edges and vertices. Here's our knowledge planner for this topic.

In Design and Technology we continued to practice running stitch to join two pieces of fabric together. We have designed our own wallets and purses and will complete these next week. Here's the knowledge organiser for this topic.

In our writing we used The Great Fire of London as a focus for our writing. The children explored this using drama and learned about Samuel Pepys. They wrote their own diaries, using the correct tense. Here's the information sheet for this topic.

What we are learning next week

Next week in maths we will be learning about fractions. We will be focusing on halves and quarters next week, finding fractions of shapes and quantities. Here's our fractions Knowledge Organiser.

In Design and Technology we will continue to complete and evaluate our stitched purses and wallets. Here's the knowledge organiser for this topic.

In our writing this week we will be looking at the features of information texts, such as bullet points, diagrams and sub-headings. We will be creating our own information text about The Great Fire of London. Here's the information sheet for this topic.
