Welcome to Year Two
What we are learning next week
In maths next week we will be completing a maths assessment and we will also be continuing our learning about place value, addition and subtraction. You can read the knowledge organiser here.
In our literacy lessons next week we will be writing a leaflet about wolves using the facts we have learnt. You can read the knowledge organiser here.
In science next week we will be consolidating all our learning from this half term. We will discuss the importance of a balanced diet, the importance of exercise and what humans need to survive. We will use this knowledge to design a leaflet to share with the Year One children You can see more on our knowledge organiser.
On Thursday afternoon we will be having a 1950s party. We will spend the afternoon creating and burying a new time capsule full of information about school life in 2023. We will be dancing to 1950s music and playing popular games. If you or your family have any memories of life in the 1950s then please share with your child or your child's class teacher so we can share these with children next week. You can see the knowledge organiser here.

We will be introducing spelling checks this week. Children will receive either a Set A or Set B spelling list. Set A is a list of spellings for children who are currently doing Read, Write Inc and Set B is for children who do Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling lessons. These lists will be slipped into the red spelling books and sent home every Friday. The children will be tested on the words the following week, on a Friday morning. Please do not write in the red books at home.
