Welcome to this week's Year One Blog
What we have been learning this week:
This week in literacy the children have been introduced to 'Dinosaurs and all that rubbish' by Michael Foreman. We have use the 'est' suffix to describe the two lands in the story and they wrote their dreams and goals.
Next week is World Book Day on Thursday 2nd of March. Please come dressed as an animal of your choice that has something that rhymes with it to sit on e.g. dog on a log.
This week in Maths we have been continuing with place value to 50. The children have found one more and one less than a number to 50 and have compared objects and amounts within 50.
We are encouraging the children to use Doodle Maths at home to improve their maths fluency. If you do not know your child's login, please ask your class teacher.
In History this week we have learnt about words and phrases related to the past, present and future. We look forward to seeing your baby photographs in two weeks.
In Art this week we have learnt three techniques to manipulate clay. The children practised these techniques with playdoh.
Have a great weekend everyone!
