Welcome to this week's Year One blog.
What we have been doing this week
This week in literacy, the children have been continuing to adapt their story of 'How to Catch a Star' and have planned for their 'Superhero Writes'.
In maths, we introduced place value to 50. The children have been representing numbers to 50 in a variety of ways and they have partitioned these numbers into tens and ones using concrete and pictorial resources.
This week we have been brilliant artists and we have been learning about ways to manipulate clay.
What we are learning next week
Next week in literacy we will be writing our 'Superhero Writes' using everything we have learnt so far.
In maths, we will be continuing to learn place value within 50. Please see the knowledge and skills organiser.
In Art next week we are being brilliant sculptors and we will be creating a space themed clay tile.
