What we have been learning this week

This week in literacy, we have been reading 'The Clockwork Dragon' and we have made a warning poster to stop people Flamethrottle the Dragon. We have looked at the suffix -ing and we have been using this in our sentences.

In maths we have been looking at position and direction using the language: right, left, backwards, forwards, above and below.

Brilliant Scientists

In science this week we have been learning about animals and habitats. The children have explored our local area and have identified the animals that live here.

Brilliant Chefs

The children have sorted fruit and vegetables into groups. 

Brilliant Designers

The children learnt about weaving and have looked at different every day objects that use this technique.

What we are learning next week

In literacy we are going to look at commands and questions and we are going to be writing a diary entry for Max about his experience with Flamethrottle.

In maths we are going to be looking at place value to 100. The children will be using concrete and pictorial resources to identify these numbers.

In science this week the children will be sorting animals into different groups and discussing their similarities and differences.

The children will be looking at different fruits and vegetables and where they come from in the world.

Brilliant Designers

The children will be using card and paper to practice weaving.
