Harvest Festival

On Thursday, we welcomed the children to school dressed as farmers and scarecrows for our Harvest Festival. The children spent the day carrying out harvest activities, such as creating food collages and Autumn artwork, and the school was filled with the smell of the Reception children’s freshly baked bread. It has been a long-held Upton tradition that the ‘Young at Heart’ club join us each year for our Harvest Festival, and they were entertained by a number of harvest songs sung beautifully by the children. The Lady Mayor judged our annual class pumpkin competition, presenting the coveted trophy to the Foxes Class for the second year running. Thank you for your generous contributions of fruit, vegetables and tinned goods. A special mention must go to Mrs Churchill for her assortment of home grown veg, including the largest pumpkin we have ever seen!
