Our 2024/25 School Council was formed in October 2024, giving Key Stage 1 children the chance to run as candidates. Each class selected three representatives who campaigned before a democratic vote, where all Year 1 and Year 2 students chose their council members.

Led by Mrs. Best, our enthusiastic councillors will meet regularly to make big decisions and ensure every child's voice is heard!

We hope to grow the council by adding Reception and Honeybees representatives later this year.

Stay tuned for updates on our discussions and future plans!

We need your help!

Tidy Up Club!

During a council meeting, councillors voiced their concerns about litter and untidy areas they had noticed around the school and were eager to take action.

As a result, they proposed the idea of a lunchtime club dedicated to keeping the school clean and caring for the environment—this led to the creation of the Tidy Up Club. To introduce the initiative, the councillors held a whole-school assembly to share their plans with their peers.

The club has now been running successfully for the past three weeks every Wednesday lunchtime. Well done to the councillors for coming up with such a fantastic initiative to keep our school looking its best!

Meeting Minutes

  • The councillors have been busy throughout March to get ready for their first fundraising initiative - selling House team badges.
  • Monday 17th March - The School Council and Mrs Best hosted a whole school assembly to discuss their plans for the Tidy Up Club to be held on Wednesday lunchtimes.
  • End of Spring term - The Tidy Up Club has been a great success with nearly all classes having had the opportunity to attend. Collectively, we have nearly reached a whole bin bag  of litter that has been collected from around our school! What a difference the children are making to our environment! smiley
