What we have been learning this week

This week in literacy, we have written a newspaper report about a missing dragon! 

In maths we have continued to represent and compare numbers to 100. The children are now able to order numbers to 100 from the smallest to the largest and identify one less and one more of a number.

Brilliant Scientists

In science this week we looked at the similarities and differences between different animals by focusing on their structure. The children drew pictures of different animals and labelled the parts of the body.

Brilliant Chefs

The children had lots of fun this week trying different fruits so they could decide on the fruits they would like in their fruit salad.  

Brilliant Designers

The children have learnt how to weave using fabric. The children also made a loom using cardboard and wool.

What we are learning next week

In literacy we are going to read a new story called 'Little Red'. The children are going to answer comprehension questions and write a newspaper report about the big bad wolf. 

In maths we are going to learn about different coins and notes. The children are going to add coins together and create their own shop.

In science this week the children are going to continue to group animals based on their structure. On Wednesday we will be going on our school trip to look at the different sea creatures.

The children will be continuing to weave using different fabrics to make a summer pattern!
