Year One blog 10th February

Welcome to this week's Year One Blog

What we have been learning this week:

This week in literacy the children have looked at online safety and have created their own posters or fact files to present their information with a focus on capital letters and full stops.

Now the children can start their half term reading challenge. The children need to find and read 3 books that are red or have hearts on them. We look forward to seeing what books you have been reading!

This week in Maths we have been introduced to place value within 50. We have counted forwards and backwards within 50 and have represented our numbers using part-part whole models and diennes.

We are encouraging the children to use Doodle Maths at home to improve their maths fluency. If you do not know your child's login, please ask your class teacher.

In Geography this week we have learnt about the 4 seasons and the weather in the UK.

In DT this week, we celebrated our fantastic moving pictures that we created last week and evaluated them. We thought about if we were to do them again, how we could make them even better.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful half term and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday 20th Feb.
