Hello Year One,
Welcome to this week’s home learning page which is our final week of learning before the half term break.
Each subject will have four lessons this week as on Friday we are setting a challenge for the day to celebrate our last day and to ‘do something different'.
Miss Close will be teaching Literacy this week, where we will be looking at the book ‘The Way Back Home’ for the final time. We will adapt a character, objects and events to create our own version of the story.
In Numeracy, Miss Sadler will be helping us count in multiples of 2s, 5s and 10s and will be showing us how to problem solve by using these skills.
Don’t forget you can use your Doodle Literacy and Maths logins to complete additional activities.
We will be reviewing three sounds in our RWI lessons this week and on Wednesday and Thursday, Miss Best will be sharing a poem in our Guided Reading lessons. We will be recalling events from the poem and exploring rhyming words by spotting alternative sounds.
Our foundation subject this week is PE. We will be researching famous athletes and finding out about a balanced diet. We will also be getting active by practising and improving our balance, coordination and strength.
Friday, is our ‘do something different’ challenge where there will be just one video to watch and a challenge set! This challenge will create a competition and a winner from each class will be selected after half term and will be given a prize!
To finish our week off, we will share our ‘Virtual Golden Assembly’ on YouTube at 2.30pm. Please keep uploading your child’s work onto Tapestry so the teachers can share their brilliant efforts and hard work.
One more week to go everyone and then a well-deserved break for our half term.
The Year One Team.
