Tuesday 19th January

Welcome to Tuesday's home learning

The home learning, resources and links for today are set out for you below. The lesson videos you will need for Read, Write, Inc., Maths and Topic have been uploaded onto your child's Tapestry journal.

Active time

Your active time today is a couple of fun action songs. Can you listen to the instructions and follow the actions? (Click on the link below)

Read, Write, Inc.

Word time / Ditties

This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Word time' or 'Ditties' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult please focus on just reading and writing the speed sounds and green words. There are also some word games to play in their home learning pack. If you feel your child needs an additional challenge, they can try the 'Red / Green Book' lesson.

Red / Green Books

This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Red / Green Book' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult, they can do the 'Word time / Ditties' lesson instead.

Maths

The video for this lesson can be found on Tapestry. The links below are for the two online videos used during the lesson. One has the number formation songs we use at school and the other has a story called 'The Ugly Five' by Julia Donaldson.

Topic

Today's activity is to have a go at your own science experiment. Below are some ideas to get you started (Click on the pictures to access the documents). Remember to use your questioning skills to try and predict what might happen before you start and then talk to your grown up about what did happen and why. We look forward to seeing photos or videos of your experiments on Tapestry.

Story time

Hairy Maclary is lucky enough to be given a big juicy bone by the butcher, Samuel Stone. This does not go unnoticed by all the other dogs who decide to follow Hairy Maclary, or rather his bone on this adventure.
