Monday 8th February

Welcome to Monday's home learning

The home learning, resources and links for today are set out for you below. The lesson videos you will need for Read, Write, Inc., Maths and Topic have been uploaded onto your child's Tapestry journal.

Active time

Your active time today is a 'Sticky Kids' work out video. Can you listen to the instructions in the song and follow the actions?  (Click on the picture below)

Read, Write, Inc.

Word time / Ditties

This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Word time' or 'Ditties' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult please focus on just reading and writing the speed sounds and green words. There are also some words games to play in their home learning pack. If you feel your child needs an additional challenge, they can try the 'Red/Green book' lesson.

Red/Green Books

This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Red/Green book' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult, they can do the 'Word time/ditties' lesson instead.

Maths

The video for today's maths video can be found on Tapestry.

Here is the home learning activity to practise the skills learnt in this lesson.

Topic

Today's topic lesson is another 'Story Maker' session. A video of Mrs Gdesis demonstrating the final part of the 'No-bot' story map can be found on Tapestry. Please use the script and story map in your child's home learning pack to help them learn the story with actions. Learning stories in this way helps children to practise and develop their oral language skills so they can go on to be successful story writers. Copies of both the script and story map can be downloaded below.

Story time

On a tree in the woods,

three baby owls, Sarah, Percy

and Bill, sit and think and wait for

their Owl Mother to come home.
