Welcome to Monday's home learning
The home learning, resources and links for today are set out for you below. The lesson videos you will need for Read, Write, Inc. and Maths have been uploaded onto your child's Tapestry journal.
Active time
Your active time today is a 'Sticky Kids' audio workout. Can you listen to the instructions and follow the actions? (Click on the picture below)
Read, Write, Inc.
Word Time / Ditties
This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Word time' or 'Ditties' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult please focus on just reading and writing the speed sounds and green words. There are also some word games to play in their home learning pack. If you feel your child needs an additional challenge, they can try the 'Red / Green Book' lesson.
Red / Green Books
This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Red / Green Book' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult, they can do the 'Word time / Ditties' lesson instead.
Maths
The video for this maths lesson can be found on Tapestry.
Here is an additional home learning activity to practise the skills learnt in this session.
Topic
Today's topic lesson is a 'Story Maker' session. A video of Mrs Thow demonstrating the actions and simplified story of 'No-Bot' can be found uploaded onto your child's Tapestry journal. Please use the script and story map in your child's home learning pack to help them learn the story with the actions. Learning stories in this way helps children to practise and develop their oral language skills so they can go on to be successful story writers. Copies of both the script and the story map can be downloaded from the links below.
Story time
One night, the Gruffalo's child wanders into the woods to search for the Big Bad Mouse. But instead, she comes upon a small mouse in the woods . . . and decides to eat him! But wait, what is that? A shadow of a very large, scary creature falls on the ground. Could it be the Big Bad Mouse after all?
The story time video has been uploaded onto Tapestry.
