Monday 18th January

Welcome to Monday's home learning

The home learning, resources and links for today are set out for you below. The lesson videos you will need for Read, Write, Inc., Maths and Topic have been uploaded onto your child's Tapestry journal.
Active time

Your active time today is a 'Sticky Kids' work out video. Can you listen to the instructions and follow the actions?  (Click on the link below)

Read, Write, Inc.

Word time / Ditties

This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Word time' or 'Ditties' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult please focus on just reading and writing the speed sounds and green words. There are also some word games to play in their home learning pack. If you feel your child needs an additional challenge, they can try the 'Red / Green Book' lesson.

Red / Green Books

This is the Read, Write, Inc. lesson to use if your child is working at a 'Red / Green Book' level for their phonics. A sticker letting you know which group your child is in has been stuck on the front cover of their home learning exercise book. If your child is finding this level too difficult, they can do the 'Word time / Ditties' lesson instead.
Maths
The video for this maths lesson can be found on Tapestry. The links below are for the two online videos used during the lesson. One has the number formation songs we use at school and the other is an episode of Numberblocks to demonstrate how numbers are actually made up of other numbers.
Topic
Today's topic session is watching the video on Tapestry of Mrs Thow reading 'No-Bot'. We will be using this story for our 'Story Maker' sessions over the next few weeks. Children will use the script and story map in their home learning packs to help them learn the story with the actions. Learning stories in this way helps children to practise and develop their oral language skills so they can go on to be successful story writers.
Story time
When a bus driver takes a break, he gives you just one instruction: Don't let the pigeon drive the bus! The pigeon tries every trick in the book to get into the driving seat. Will you let him drive the bus?
